Spin, Build, and Write Place Value Game,December Calendar Pieces and a FREEBIE!

Place Value madness continues! Below is another game I just posted at my TPT store. Be sure to go check it out. Here is a little preview:

December Calendar Pieces available at my store:

Now for the FREEBIE...This is a brace map used to break numbers down to the numbers "parts." I will use this as an assessment to see which kiddos understand place value and the ones that still need more help. The whole number is written in the box and the rest of the map is filled out to represent that number. Students will complete this page independently. You could also use this to play the above game with the spinners instead of the record sheet. Just put these pages in page protectors and use with expo markers for  reuse. Happy Place Value Playing :-)

Thankful for PLACE VALUE FREEBIE!!!!

I created this fun little game to practice place value. There are three options to play using this game. Students work in partners and build numbers created by spinning the spinner. They record their data on the recording sheet. I haven't tried it yet soooo, PLEASE leave me some feedback if you use it in your classroom. and speaking of being thankful...I am thankful for Cara Carroll at The First Grade Parade for inspiring me to make this activity-Thanks Cara!

In other news...my kiddos will be writing about Turkeys this 3 day week. I'm going to try my hardest to get EVERYTHING fit in. We will see!!!! It's not too late to grab a turkey unit over at my TpT store...check out some examples below!
Happy Turkey Week!

Place Value Madness

I know-I have gone MAD with place value!!!! Another activity for you-CHoose a number 1-60 and write it on the line. Count and connect drawing a line from one to the chosen number (we will use 31). Stop at 31. Go back and count your strings of ten and draw a horizontal line labeling it 1, 2, 3 for 10, 20, 30. See above. Now color the towers of ten and "extra" ones to match your number labeling the tens 10 20, 30. Write a number sentence to match: 30 cubes + 1 cube= 31 cubes in all. Now go back and under line the 1 in 10, 2 in 20, 3 in 30 to show 3 towers or strings of ten.
Complete the sentence: 3 tens and 1 one = 31 ....Clear as mud????? leave a question or comment for clarification! Oh -ya...I will laminate so we can use dry erase markers and use over and over.

Place Value Fun! and a Pumpkin Marshmallow Sorting and Graphing FREEBIE!

We are hitting place value hard this quarter so I made a game to teach this standard. Students work in pairs and build the number on the card. They use unifix cubes or base ten blocks. When they have finished building the number they record the number in their data sheet. You can laminate the cards and data sheet for durability as well as saving paper! Check it out at my TPT store!
Above is the directions with two possible games to play using the cards seen below (38 cards to choose from).
Below is the data sheet for students to record the number they built.
